“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. As a child of God we have the responsibility of being both salt and light to the World.

1. Salt is a preservative

2. Light is a purifier

3. Salt makes one thirsty

4. Light helps one to find the water of the Word of God.

The role of the Church is this century has not changed and until Jesus Comes we are to be the both salt and light.

1. We must preserve the great fundamentals of the Faith,

a. The blood

b. The Book

c. The Blessed Hope

2. We must preserve the great Judea-Christian Ethic that made America Great.

3. We must be a Shining light to the Lost we come in contact with each day.

4. We must be a beacon of Safety to those outside our shores to reach the World

a. There 6.3 billion people on the face of the earth 94% live outside the US

b. We must as the freest country in the world, and with the greatest resources reachout to the Lost World of nearly 6 billion lost souls.

c. I you took a rope and tied a knot ever 12 inch and and tied until you had 6 billion knots, at a rate of one second it would take you 2893 year and the rope would encircle the globe 45 times.

If we are going to accomplish what must be done we must have

a. Strong Preaching, & Soul winning

b. We must use every means possible to spread the Word of God

But what are the principles that made America Great. Let me give them to you.

I. The Dignity of Human Life.

“Thou shalt not kill.” (Ex 20:13 KJV)

“Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.” (Mt 5:21-22 KJV)

A. Marxism and Communism have killed 142 million people since 1917

B. We could certainly add to the death and destruction that Islam as inflicted since the 7th century

C. Nazism killed 6 million Jews or Jewish sympathizers during WW II

D. The Number One sin today in Abortion

1. National Right to Life reports 45,951,133 since 1973

2. That is millions more that have been killed in all the wars America and been in since 1776

E. What can we do?

1. We need to pray for the defeat of Legislation supporting Abortion

2. We need to pray for the passage of Legislation opposed to Abortion.

a) This prayer needs to be first made to God or Heavenly Father

b) Then we need to plead with those in position to vote to vote the right way.

3. Pray for and encourage our president to appoint Supreme Court, and lower court justices who oppose it.

4. Just as the Dred Scott case that declared Negroes not Human was reversed so can the abortions.

F. There is another sin that is looming on the Horizon, “mercy Killing” or killing of senior citizens who are no longer useful to society

II. The Principle of Monogamous Marriage, One man—One woman for life.

“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” (Ge 2:23 KJV)

“A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;” (1Ti 3:2 KJV)

“And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” (Mt 19:4-6 KJV)

A. We now have a 50% divorce rate that is 1 out of 2 marriages end in divorce.

1. Mind you that that stat lumps all marriages and remarriage together

2. The rate is higher for those who have be married and divorces and remarry

B. American culture now accepts co-habitation (spelled shacking up for us older Americans) There is no shame associated the practice. Young and old are practicing adultery and fornication.

C. States and courts are passing law trying to legalize “same sex marriages” California just past and the governor just veto such a bill.

D. We should encourage those in authority to oppose any measure that will weaking the traditional and Scriptural family.

E. A Family begins when one man and one woman are joined in holy matrimony

III. The Principle of Common Decency

“And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? “I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.” (Re 3:18 KJV)

A. The explosion of Pornography is destroying our homes.

1. I was talking to the owner of a filtered internet site and he shared the following insight with men.

2. In the days be for the internet, a man (or woman) had to go to a seedy bookstore, or filthy peep show to see porno and to get his porno fix. Then if he bought the material he was force to hide it and seek around to view it.

3. but with the advent of the internet, a man can sit in the comfort of his home or office and spend his time and engery defiling himself and defrauding his family.

B. What today we would not call pornographic but did a generation ago is on the store shelves at eye level of a five year old.

C. Children have TV and Internet in there bedrooms and who know what they are watching.

D. Families should not be with out protection

2. TV only in plain view of the whole family

3. An understanding that this is my house and I will search it to keep it clean—included under the mattress and in the draws.

IV. The Principle of The Work Ethic

“Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:” (De 5:13 KJV)

 “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.” (2Th 3:10 KJV)

A. We are plagued with welfare

1. The greatest case against the welfare state are the Indian nations where unemployment is as high as 80%

2. Those on welfare in New Orleans during the flood following Katrina complained because the gov’t didn’t do it fast enough

3. At least one case said I don’t want to leave my home because my welfare check is due on the first and I need it.

B. Is a man can and won’t work is foolish to give him welfare so he can continue in his sinful habits

C. But if a man can’t work because of inability that is a different story.

A. Pray for the peace of Israel

B. Preach and teach the love of Israel

3. Remember that Humanism is against Israel

4. Remember that the UN is against against Israel

5. The World and National council of Churches is against Israel

6. We who love the Lord should love the people of his nativity.

C. God Promised to bless those who bless Irsrael, and to curse those who curse her.

VI. The Principle of God Centered Education.

“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.” (De 6:6-9 KJV)

 “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” (Eph 6:4 KJV)

A. God Centered Education begins in the Home.

1. It begins with Mom and Dad.

2. They were to teach there children daily the commands and precepts of the Word of God.

B. The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Knowledge.

1. How can the ungodly Public Ed. Philosophy teach right without a fear of God.

2. How can those who do not love (a commitment to meet all the needs of the one loved) Teach your children.

C. Early schools in America were raised up so the our society would have people who could read the Word of God.

D. We need Education that Stress the Word of God as our sole authority—above science and experience

E. We need Education that teach Creation as a fact, and Evolution as a unproven theory which it is.

VII. The Principle of Divine Institutions.

A. The Home—

“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” (Ge 2:23-24 KJV)

 “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” (Ro 13:1 KJV)

“And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;” (Ac 17:26 KJV)

C. The Church—

“And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.” (Ex 25:8-9 KJV)

“And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Mt 16:17-19 KJV)

VIII. Conclusion

A. As Lovers of God we must keep these principles before us, and endeavor to promote them

B. As Lovers of Men it is imperative that we proclaim the underlying Word of God to men that they may know Him and desire to have their lives founded upon him and His word. Thus desiring to promote the truth.
