This passage called by some the Golden Passional is one of great Paradoxes and
great Contrast. Note just a few of
these as we seek to see the richness of the
text before us
In this introductory stanza to the Golden Passional we have God declaring
"Behold the Man." We must keep in mind
that this prophecy was delivered hundreds of
years prior to the events of Bethlehem or
Calvary. In this prophecy not only the
humiliation of Christ by the Glorification are
evident.
Over the past few month we as individuals and nations
have been startled by events of the day. The downing
of flight 703 in England, the Explosion on the west
end, The explosion of a flight out of Honolulu, the 5
million dollar bounty on Salomon Rushdie
In the previous messages we have seen a horrified
crowd of spectator, we
have seen the crowd of Kings and rulers who
were startled. Now we have another crowd
looking upon him. These are they who have heard
the report, They have look upon him, and yet
despised and rejected him.
The question has been ask, "Is it possible in a short
sentence to present our faith?" Some have summed it up
in the Apostle Creed . But that requires 4 or 5
Paragraphs. When Robert Taylor asked Spurgeon, in his
last illness, if he could state his faith in a
sentence, with out hesitation he gave it in four words
"Jesus died for me."
Have you ever felt like you were being abused.
Things just did not seem fair. No matter how
hard you tried no one would listen. Did you know
that we have a Saviour who understands. One he
for you allow himself to be abused so that you would
not be for all eternity.
Today on this Resurrection Morning I trust you
will rejoice with me as we see Him who Loves us
as the Victorious One. If ever there were a
paradox it is in this passage. One who
should be discouraged and in despair is now
seen as victorious.
